Epithelial: seperated from connective by basement membrane
Compact bone: Halversian (central) canal - blood vessels, nerve fibers, rings of lamellae with lacunae hold osteocytes
Spngy bone: lattice calcium carbonate, cavities contain red bone marrow (W & RBC) yellow marrow fat and connective tissue, some WBC.
Hyaline cartilage: "glass" translucent matrix, 40% collagen; rib ends, nose.
Elastic cartilage: elastin; pinna of the ear.
Fibrocartilage more collagen; intervertebral disks.
Spongy and compact bone
Frog (non-mammal) erythrocytes are nucleated
Neutrophil 50 - 70% sausage links light granules phagocyting bacteria in wounds
Eosinophil 2 - 4% divided nuclei pink granules attack parasites and phagocyte antigen-antibody complexes
BasophilL 1% 3 links dense purple granules secrete anti-coagulant and vasodilatory histamines and serotonin.
Lymphocyte 20 - 40% B & T cells; humoral, cell-mediated response
Monocyte 3 - 8% indented U or kidney
