and molars (carnassials in Carnivora).
<lI> Herbivores  have teeth with broad, ridged surfaces; canines may be
absent.
<lI> Omnivores  have  unspecialized  dentition:  bladelike incisors for
biting,  pointed canines for tearing, and premolars and molars for
grinding and crushing.
